Diagnosis
The diagnosis of sleep apnea is always determined through an overnight sleep study (Polysomnogram). On your first office visit, your physician will take a careful history of your sleep condition, followed by an examination of your airway, from the tip of your nose to your lungs.
If your symptoms and examination are suspect for sleep apnea, our office will find a sleep center with which your insurance company contracts, and arrange for a sleep study. The sleep study gives very detailed information that will help your physician determine the diagnosis and severity of your sleep apnea. Once the diagnosis of sleep apnea is determined, an individualized treatment plan will be discussed with you.
